SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack B. Blane, who passed away on February 19, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Jack Blane leaves a legacy of immeasurable dedication and commitment to Rotary International; his focus for the last 30 years was on PolioPlus, the global eradication of polio; and

WHEREAS, Jack Blane was active with the Highland Park Community Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America, the City of Highland Park, and numerous other organizations; and

WHEREAS, Jack Blane was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Joan (Fleischman); and

WHEREAS, Jack Blane was the loving father of Barbara (Rand) Toney, the late Nancy (Tony) Guerra, and John Blane; and the proud grandfather of Sarah (Patrick Pauley) Toney, David Toney, and Nathan Blane; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack B. Blane, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Blane as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
