SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry Joseph Bina of Perry, who passed away on January 30, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bina was born to George and Emma (Oborny) Bina outside of Lincolnville, Kansas on February 28, 1941; he married Marsha (Lidgard) Fernandes on June 29, 1996; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bina helped on the family farm and operated bulldozers for 45 years, eventually starting his own excavation company, Bina Dozer Service; during the 1990s, he also began raising emus on his Twin Feathers Emu Ranch; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bina loved spending time watching his grandkids play sports and sing in school programs; he passed his love of the outdoors and guns along to them and his daughters; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bina was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Ann Strecker; his mother-in-law, Mardell (Bill) Lidgard; and his brother-in-law, Lloyd Patterson; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bina is survived by his wife, Marsha; his stepdaughters, Yvette (John) West, Patti (Joe) Saxer, and Alisa Fernandes; his granddaughters, Cassi Ruyle, Cydny Saxer, Carmyn Saxer, and Eden West; his grandson, Caleb West; his sister, Betty Jean Patterson; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry Joseph Bina, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Bina as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
