| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of R. "Wayne" Slone of Elmwood, who passed | 4 | | away on December 26, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone was born in Fulton County to Clyde and | 6 | | Marjorie (Baty) Slone on July 29, 1935; he married M. Diane | 7 | | Butterfield at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone was a fighter pilot who served in the | 9 | | Air Force and Air National Guard from 1955 until 1975; he | 10 | | retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and Squadron Commander of the | 11 | | 169th Guard United in Peoria; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone joined CILCO as an apprentice lineman | 13 | | in 1958; he held various positions related to sales and | 14 | | operations until he was appointed commercial activities | 15 | | manager in 1974; he was the manager of rates and regulatory | 16 | | affairs, Vice President, Senior Vice President, and President | 17 | | and CEO during his 37 years of service; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone was a director of the Edison Electric | 19 | | Institute, the Heartland Partnership, and the Agriculture | 20 | | Research and Development Corporation; he served as a past board | 21 | | member and chairman of the Proctor Hospital Board; he also |

| 1 | | served as a director of University Bank and Jefferson Bank of | 2 | | Peoria; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone was preceded in death by his wife, | 4 | | Diane; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Slone is survived by his daughter, Pamela | 6 | | (David) Serdar; his son, Mark Slone; his grandchildren, Adam | 7 | | Serdar and Brenna (Jesse) Danko; his great-granddaughter, | 8 | | Mackenzie Danko and his special friend, Trudy Cline; therefore, | 9 | | be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | R. "Wayne" Slone and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
