SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald W. "Dutch" Janssen of Rock Island,
4who passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 88; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Janssen was born in Marseilles to Albert
6and Emma DeBlock Janssen on January 12, 1929; he served in the
7United States Army during the Korean Conflict and married Carol
8DeBlieck at St. Mary's Church in Hampton on September 22, 1956;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Janssen worked as an electrician for J.I.
11Case in Rock Island; he retired from Farmall after 25 years of
12service in 1986, and then retired in 1994 from Red Jacket after
13seven years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Janssen was a member of St. Mary's Church
15in Rock Island, IBEW Union 1309, and the American Legion Post
16246 in Moline; he enjoyed playing rolle bolle, fishing, and
17camping; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and loved his
18best puppy pal, Lexi; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Donald Janssen was preceded in death by his
20sister, Lorraine Foster; and a brother, Kenneth Janssen; and

1    WHEREAS, Donald Janssen is survived by his wife, Carol; his
2children, Diane Schissel, Tom (Donna) Janssen, Mark (Angela)
3Janssen, and Carolyn Janssen; his grandchildren, Aubrey (Joe)
4Moran, Danielle (Luke) Burnett, Jack Janssen, and Nik Janssen;
5and his brother, Albert (Jean) Janssen; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Donald W. "Dutch" Janssen, and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Donald Janssen as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
