SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leroy Fitzgerald of Huntley, who passed away on November 17, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Leroy Fitzgerald was born to Michael and Amelia (Drendel) Fitzgerald on April 26, 1927; at the age of 8, he moved with his family to a farm in Huntley, where he lived for 82 years; he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1955 and married Louise Obenauf on November 10, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Leroy Fitzgerald was a dairy and crop farmer; and

WHEREAS, Leroy Fitzgerald was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntley; and

WHEREAS, Leroy Fitzgerald was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Teresa Louise; and his sister, Celestine Seisser; and

WHEREAS, Leroy Fitzgerald is survived by his wife, Louise; his daughters, Mary (David) Reece and Ann (Paul) Ostrander; his sons, Michael, Edward (Shari), Dale (Lisa), and David; his grandchildren, Amy, Kristie, and Jennifer Reece, Jenna (Jake) Talbert, Bryan Ostrander, Eion and Conor Fitzgerald, and Jessica and Sarah Fitzgerald; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Vincent, Lana, and Alex Talbert; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leroy Fitzgerald, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leroy Fitzgerald as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
