SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clarice M. Dahlman of Marengo, who passed
4away on January 15, 2017 at the age of 81; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clarice Dahlman was born in Fairmont, Minnesota to
6George and Susie (Gould) Miller on May 3, 1935; she married
7Arnold Dahlman in Marengo on August 25, 1956; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Clarice Dahlman spent 30 years working at the Yum
9Yum Drive-in instilling a strong work ethic in the high school
10students of Marengo; after the Yum Yum closed, she worked for
1120 years at Ace Hardware where she again demonstrated her work
12ethic to the younger employees; she retired from Ace in 2016;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Clarice Dahlman was always busy and usually it was
15doing something for the community and those around her; she was
16a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion
17Ladies Aid; she was also a longtime member of the Riley
18Township Cemetery Board and she enjoyed playing cards; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Clarice Dahlman was preceded in death by her
20husband, Arnold; her parents; and her siblings, Harriett
21Boersma and Lyle Miller; and

1    WHEREAS, Clarice Dahlman is survived by her children, Duane
2(Lou) Dahlman, and Deb (Roy) Merritt; her grandchildren, Bill
3Dahlman and Kristin Dahlman; and many extended family members
4and close friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Clarice M. Dahlman, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Clarice Dahlman as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
