SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert W. Hellberg of Moline, who passed away on October 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hellberg was born in Moline to Gosta R. and Martha I. Carlin Hellberg on October 29, 1925; he served in the United States Navy during World War II and married Virginia P. Johnson in Davenport, Iowa on September 8, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hellberg worked as an experimental mechanic for John Deere; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hellberg was a member of the Moline Vikings Club and Moline American Legion Post 246; he enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hellberg was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; and his son, Robert Hellberg Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hellberg is survived by his daughters, Barbara (John) Dinquel and Nancy (Jeff) Raes; his daughter-in-law, Gail Hellberg; his grandchildren, Kristina (Steven Galanius) Dinquel, Kayla Dinquel, Rebecca Dinquel, Matthew W. Dinquel (Mariko), Sarah Raes (Craig Rule), Jeff Raes (Taylor), Dylan Raes, Katherine Hellberg, and Karl Hellberg; and 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert W. Hellberg, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Hellberg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
