SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carolyn L. Simone, who passed away on October 22, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Simone was the matriarch of a family of dedicated public servants; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Simone's kindness, patience, and contributions to her community will never be forgotten; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Simone was the beloved wife of Samuel J. "Sam" Simone; the loving mother of Susan (Dan Adcock) Simone, Terri (Pat) Lorenz, Lori (Larry) Haack, Patti Simone, Debbie (Scott) Zimmerman, Joseph (Amy) Simone, John (Regina) Simone, and Angela (Nick) Ochoa; the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; the dear daughter of the late Helen (Bailey) and Edward Martin; the cherished sister of Barbara Martin, Edward (Josie) Martin, and Charles Martin; the fond sister-in-law of Sharon and the late Anthony Simone; and uncle to many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carolyn L. Simone, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carolyn Simone as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
