SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael J. Meier of Crystal Lake, who passed away on January 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meier was born in Woodstock to Harold and Marie Meier on March 28, 1941; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meier was a self-employed painter and decorator in the Crystal Lake area for over 50 years; he served his community as a volunteer fireman with Crystal Lake Fire-Rescue for many years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meier coached his son, Scott and grandson, Cameron, throughout their youth baseball years and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play tennis; he enjoyed fishing, traveling, boating, watching wildlife, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meier was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Bonnie Meier and Judy Albrecht; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meier is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou; his children, Conni (Jeff) Stinek and Scott Meier; his grandchildren, Cameron and Kelsey Laktash; and his sister Sandra Knowles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael J. Meier, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Meier as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
