SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Russell Field Triebel of Peoria, who passed away on September 25, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Field Triebel was born in Peoria to Carl O. and Margaret (Hunter) Triebel on September 21, 1928; he graduated from Peoria High School in 1947; he attended DePauw University and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity; following his graduation from DePauw in 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he taught in the radar school at Fort Bliss, Texas; and

WHEREAS, Upon returning to Peoria, Field Triebel managed the Hunter Lumber Company; he later joined his father and brother as co-owner of Ideal Troy Cleaners; and

WHEREAS, Field Triebel was active in the Peoria community; he was a member of the Rotary Club of Peoria for 61 years and a longstanding member of the Country Club of Peoria, where he enjoyed many years of golf and tennis; he served on the Illinois Central College Foundation; he was an active, lifelong member of First Federated Church, where he also served on the Executive Board; he enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, tennis, and golf, where he made valuable friendships; and

WHEREAS, Field Triebel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannine; his son, Thomas Field Triebel; his sister, Jean T. Dampier; and his brother, John H. "Jack" Triebel; and

WHEREAS, Field Triebel is survived by his daughter, Deborah Field Triebel; his daughter-in-law, Karen (John) Calder; his granddaughters, Megan (Michael) Stoll, Melissa (James) Bello, and Margaret Triebel; his five great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jack, and Oliver Stoll and Dominic and Elise Bello; and his nephew, Hunter (Shirley) Triebel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Russell Field Triebel and extend our sincere condolences to his friends, family, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Field Triebel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
