SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary A. Stauthammer of Peoria, who passed away on September 26, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Gary Stauthammer was born in Pekin to William A. and Patricia A. (Heitzman) Stauthammer on March 29, 1963; he graduated from Illinois Central College with Associate Degrees in Music and Fire Science; he married Denise G. Lohrenz in Pekin on June 18, 1988; and

WHEREAS, Gary Stauthammer held the rank of captain with the City of Peoria Fire Department and was a hazardous material coordinator; he was also a bugler for the fire department; and

WHEREAS, Gary Stauthammer enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors; he enjoyed playing Dartball at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Chillicothe and at First United Methodist Church in Peoria; he was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Pekin; and

WHEREAS, Gary Stauthammer was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Willis E. Stauthammer; and

WHEREAS, Gary Stauthammer is survived by his wife of 29 years, Denise; his children, Jaasiel, Jaelynn, and Jacob (Darcy) Stauthammer; his mother, Patricia Stauthammer; his brothers, Randall W. (Mary) Stauthammer, James A. Stauthammer, and William A. (Angela) Stauthammer Jr.; and his extended family, Warren and Steve Krause; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary A. Stauthammer, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Stauthammer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
