HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Glenwood Middle School boy's baseball team, the Titans, on winning the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 3A State Championship and on completing an undefeated season of 20 wins and zero losses; and

WHEREAS, The Titans are only the second team in Class 3A IESA history to have a perfect season; and

WHEREAS, The Titans defeated North Mac 4 to 0 in the regional semifinal; they defeated Carlinville 14 to 4 in the regional championship; and they defeated Edward Lincoln 5 to 3 in the sectional championship; and

WHEREAS, In the IESA Class 3A State Quarterfinal, the Titans defeated Morton 5 to 4; the winning pitcher was Nolan McMasters; Will Plattner hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning; and

WHEREAS, In the IESA Class 3A State Semifinal, the Titans defeated Homer Glen 5 to 1; the winning pitcher was Eli Curtis; and

WHEREAS, In the IESA Class 3A State Championship, the Titans defeated Coal City 4 to 3; the winning pitcher was Matthew Denny; Jase Daley hit a home run in the bottom of the 5th inning to take the lead; and

WHEREAS, Titan Head Coach John Hummel instilled the grit, dedication, and athleticism in his players that is required in order to complete such an impressive task; they used teamwork, commitment, and hard work to overcome many challenges this season and to complete such an historic accomplishment; and

WHEREAS, The Titans are Justin Ping, Eli Curtis, Tyler Marconi, Will Plattner, Sam Hulvey, Mason Burgin, Nolan McMasters, Luke Clevenger, Addison Hickman, Zane Danielson, Matthew Denny, Jase Daley, Landon Marconi, Parker Detmers, Logan Stokes, and Mason Bouavong; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Glenwood Middle School boy's baseball team, the Titans, on winning the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 3A State Championship and on completing an undefeated season of 20 wins and zero losses, and we commend and applaud them for their humility and respect for each other on and off the baseball field; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Titans and to the Glenwood Middle School Athletic Department.
