HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Flora Lee
4Hill, who passed away on August 9, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Flora Hill was born in Greenwood, Mississippi to
6Charlie Hill and Clara Lee Lacey on January 27, 1951; she
7graduated from Englewood Vocational High School in 1969 and
8received her nursing assistant certificate from the Chicago
9Vocational Career Center; she married Darnell Ashton in 1969;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Flora Hill worked for Goldblatt's Department
12Store for over 12 years, where she enjoyed spending the
13majority of her time and money until they closed their doors;
14she later worked for Gross Pointe Manor for 34 years until
15retiring in 2017; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Flora Hill had been a member of Mt. Pisgah
17Missionary Baptist Church since 1963; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Flora Hill was preceded in death by her parents;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Flora Hill is survived by her sons, Andrew Hill

1(Tanya) and Malek Umoja; her daughter-in-law, Ingrid Qualls;
2her sisters, Kiecha Lacey, Annie Pearl Washington (Michael),
3and Charlene Penny Brewer (John); Roy Hill; her grandchildren,
4Brandon L. Moss, Precious A. Glinsey (Matthew), Brittany Moss,
5Amberia Hill, Alysa A. Hill, Andre A. Hill, and Ameer M. Umoja;
6her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Deveon, Brayden, Matthew Jr.
7Babygirl Glensey, Lauryn, Ayden, and Autumn; many nieces and
8nephews, including special nieces, Tia and Endya (Mook); and
9her uncle, Dennis Dean (Avon); therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12mourn the passing of Flora Lee Hill, and extend our sincere
13condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Flora Hill as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
