HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize the life and service of Rev.
4Joseph P. "Joe" Hill; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Hill is one of the most popular teachers at
6the Power Circle Institute, the teaching component of the Power
7Circle Congregation, founded by him in 1996; his unique and
8dynamic style of speaking, training, and lecturing is
9unsurpassed; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Previously, Rev. Hill was a senior training
11consultant for AT&T Corporate Education and Training in
12Chicago; he began his career with AT&T in 1979 as an account
13executive in the major financial markets; for several years, he
14was recognized as one of the top 5% of the AT&T Achievers Club,
15a sales group where members must sell at least $3-10 million
16dollars per year; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rev. Hill's extraordinary talents and skills as a
18teacher and motivator come from his background as a pupil and
19educator; he was a teacher and principal in the St. Louis and
20Chicago Public School Systems; he holds a Bachelor of Arts in
21Education from Harris-Stowe College, a Master of Arts in Urban
22Studies from Northeastern Illinois University, an

1Administrative Certification from Chicago State University,
2and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University
3of Illinois at Chicago; he has completed the core curriculum in
4the doctoral program in political science from the University
5of Illinois at Chicago and has finalized his doctorate degree
6in business management from Columbia Pacific University; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rev. Hill has been an active member of the
8national March of Dimes Foundation Training Team, where he
9helped to establish programs to address teenage pregnancy,
10infant mortality, and infant morbidity in Los Angeles, Kansas
11City, and Columbus; he has volunteered his time and talent
12speaking to students throughout the country and for national
13youth organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of
14America and the Boy Scouts of America; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rev. Hill authors books, inspirational essays,
16poems, and speeches that are shared at seminars, meetings,
17workshops, and conferences; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20recognize the life and service of Rev. Joseph P. "Joe" Hill,
21and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it
