HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his
4dedication to the Olympia Fields Park District; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford began his professional career at
6Quaker Oats in a senior management position, where he worked
7for 25 years; he later became a successful entrepreneur in the
8restaurant and product distribution sectors; and
 
9    WHEREAS, After retirement, Timothy Bradford began his next
10career in public service, a passion that had always been
11important to him; he has volunteered on the boards of numerous
12civic and business organizations, including the Rich Township
13High School District 227 advisory board and the Great Lakes
14Bank advisory board; he served as president of the Matteson
15Rotary Club; he also serves as the administrator of Rich
16Township; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has received numerous awards for
18his community involvement, including the Eagle Award for his
19service to the Olympia Fields Park District, the Hero's Award
20from the Village of Olympia Fields, the Diversity Award from
21Diversity, Inc., and a commendation from the Matteson Business
22Association; and

1    WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford was elected to the Metropolitan
2Water Reclamation District of the Greater Chicago Board of
3Commissioners in 2014; he is the chairman of the Ethics
4Committee and the Federal Legislation Committee and the vice
5chairman of the Maintenance and Operations Committee and
6Monitoring and Research Committee; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford's passion for the environment,
8preservation of open space, and community development can be
9seen in his 30 years of service as a member of the Olympia
10Fields Park District Board, where he served as president for
11three terms; he also served on the Irons Oaks Environmental
12Learning Centers Joint Committee between the Olympia Fields
13Park District and Homewood Flossmoor Park District; and
 
14    WHEREAS, It was during Timothy Bradford's tenure that the
15award winning Sergeant Means Park and the Park District complex
16came into its own; the Cull House is the administrative center
17of the Olympia Fields Park District; the "Barn" Meeting Center,
18an actual renovated barn, serves as a multi-use facility that
19handles special events, meetings, weddings, and other
20activities; the award winning Barn serves as an important focal
21point for community gatherings throughout the Southland
22region; the popularity of the complex, especially the Barn, led
23to the expansion and renovation of the Barn building in late

12016; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has been a tireless leader in the
3Southland for almost four decades and a dedicated member of the
4Olympia Fields community; on June 16, 2017, the Sergeant Means
5Park Barn will be re-dedicated as the "Bradford Red Door Barn";
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his dedication to the
10Olympia Fields Park District and we wish him and his family all
11the best as he continues to provide leadership and good
12counsel; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Timothy Bradford as an expression of our respect
15and esteem.
