HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Governor is the Chief Executive of the State of Illinois and already has programs that honor State employees such as TEAM (Transparency, Ethical Conduct, Accountability, and Motivated customer service) and the State Government Suggestion Award Board; and

WHEREAS, State employees are asked to do more with less, especially with the current budget impasse; and

WHEREAS, Trust and accountability are not only buzzwords that are said to meet a random metric but are standards to aid the State in meeting the requirements for all public sector vanguard; and

WHEREAS, Human resources should recognize that human capital and the human spirit blend together to reveal that State employees are an asset in public service to all and not just the few; and

WHEREAS, The citizens of the State realize that the real work is done behind the scenes by front line employees and not a "Superstar" or a big title person in management; and

WHEREAS, All State employees, regardless of position, agency, title, duty, or salary are part of one team where together everyone achieves more; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the Governor to create the Unsung Heroes State Employee Program that instructs department heads to nominate an employee each month to acknowledge outstanding efforts in lieu of plaques and financial bonuses; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to the Governor and all agency directors in the Executive Branch.
