HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Marshall Jones on being named the 2017 Outstanding Citizen by the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jones has been an active citizen of Kewanee for over 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jones has helped the community through various leadership and volunteer positions with Junior Achievement USA, the Rotary Club, the Kewanee Salvation Army Board, the Kewanee Area United Way, Freedom House, Project Now, and as a minister and hospice chaplain; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jones retired from Verizon after 35 years and is now spending his "golden years" giving back as a full-time community volunteer; he plans on completing another degree in information technology; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish to congratulate Marshall Jones on being named the 2017 Outstanding Citizen by the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Marshall Jones as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
