HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael
4"Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage to 50 state capitals in 50 days;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, On September 4, 2012, Mayor Staub launched his
7trip in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and over the next 44 days, he
8visited all 50 state capitals across the United States; at each
9capitol building he recited the Gettysburg Address, becoming
10the first, and only, person to do so; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mayor Staub concluded his trip in Springfield on
12October 17, 2012 in front of Lincoln's Tomb, having driven
13seven to eight hours and 425 miles per day; he took over 7,000
14pictures; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mayor Staub set out on his trip to honor Abraham
16Lincoln and our veterans; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
18HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael "Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage
20to 50 state capitals in 50 days; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to Mayor Staub as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
