HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael "Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage to 50 state capitals in 50 days; and

WHEREAS, On September 4, 2012, Mayor Staub launched his trip in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and over the next 44 days, he visited all 50 state capitals across the United States; at each capitol building he recited the Gettysburg Address, becoming the first, and only, person to do so; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Staub concluded his trip in Springfield on October 17, 2012 in front of Lincoln's Tomb, having driven seven to eight hours and 425 miles per day; he took over 7,000 pictures; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Staub set out on his trip to honor Abraham Lincoln and our veterans; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael "Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage to 50 state capitals in 50 days; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Staub as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
