HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, It is important to recognize those who contribute
3to the betterment of the State of Illinois through public
4service; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young was born in Kankakee to John and
6Sandra Young on November 8, 1961; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young attended Kankakee public and
8parochial schools; he graduated from Bishop McNamara High
9School in 1979; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young was a student-athlete on the
11wrestling team while at Drake University; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young has been a dedicated firefighter
13since 1984; he has served more than 30 years with the Kankakee
14Fire Department; and he earned several promotions eventually
15reaching the rank of Fire Chief on December 1, 2004; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young proved his bravery and resolve
17when, in 1991, he resuscitated a 55-year-old woman who had gone
18into full cardiac arrest; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young, obtained his Bachelors of Arts

1from Western Illinois University in 2003 and earned his
2master's degree in Public Administration in 2007; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Chief Ron Young is a dedicated family man; he is
4the father to several children and grandchildren, and has been
5married to his wife, Deanne, since 1981; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate Chief Ron Young of the Kankakee Fire Department,
9on his retirement from his lifelong service and dedication to
10the people of the Kankakee community; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Chief Ron Young and his family as a symbol of our
13esteem and respect.
