HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives would like to recognize Pat Quirk, 2017 Hall of Fame Inductee into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association (IWCOA); and

WHEREAS, The IWCOA was founded in 1971 with the intent of encouraging coaches and officials to cooperatively work together to recognize individuals, groups, and institutions who have further advanced the quality of the sport of wrestling; and

WHEREAS, Pat Quirk is a 1996 graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, where he was a two-time Illinois High School Association State Finalist, a two-time All West Suburban Conference selection, team captain, and a two-time Junior National All-American (Freestyle); and

WHEREAS, Pat Quirk continued his wrestling career at the University of Illinois; he was a two-time All-American (8th in 2000 and 2nd in 2001), Big Ten Champion (2001), four-year NCAA qualifier, team captain, and a Fighting Illini All-Time Letter Winner; and

WHEREAS, Pat Quirk has remained involved in wrestling over the last 16 years; he resides in Clarendon Hills with his family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the accomplishments of Pat Quirk and congratulate him on being inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Hall of Fame; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Pat Quirk as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
