HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, On April 29 and 30, 2017, 14 students will be
3completing an aerospace project to try and break the world
4record for the highest radio-controlled airplane flight; and
 
5    WHEREAS, These students have completed a six-week training
6program in which they learned how to put together a project of
7this nature, how to fly radio-controlled airplanes, and how to
8read and understand the telemetry information sent back to the
9ground station from the aircraft; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Their studies included meteorology, aeronautics,
11aerodynamics, electrical theory, and system integration; and
 
12    WHEREAS, They built, assembled, and tested three unmanned
13air vehicles that will attempt to reach 100,000 feet and
14shatter the current record for highest radio-controlled
15airplane flight; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The 14 students from Nippersink Middle School and
17Richmond Burton High School will travel to Spaceport, New
18Mexico to undertake an Aerospace STEM Challenge; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The students are Gerrit Kaup, Jacob Minker, Maggie
20Ortmeyer, Eric Gordon, Hanne Nestler, Cody Lillge, Max Glassar,

1Austin Mazur, Luke Brumm, Nick Ross, Moss Johnson, Camille
2Husko, Vanessa Zaluski, and Rachel Stark; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
5recognize these 14 students for the work they have done and
6wish them luck at the Aerospace STEM Challenge; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
9presented to the 14 students as an expression of our esteem and
10respect.
