HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives would like to recognize Karen L. Hackett for serving as Chief Executive Officer of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons for over 13 years; and

WHEREAS, Prior to joining the Academy, Karen Hackett held the position of Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the American College of Healthcare Executives from 1995 to 2003; and

WHEREAS, Karen Hackett has also been Vice-President for the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council; she has previous healthcare provider and consulting experience as well; and

WHEREAS, Karen Hackett is board certified in healthcare management and a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives; and

WHEREAS, Karen Hackett is a Fellow of American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); she served as the Chairwoman of the ASAE from 2010 to 2011, and a Certified Association Executive; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Karen L. Hackett on her many years of service, and we wish her many more happy years in retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be sent to Karen L. Hackett as a symbol of our congratulations.
