HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Lemont Mayor Brian K. Reaves on the occasion of his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves was elected as Mayor of Lemont in 2009 after having served as a Trustee and Chair of the Village Board's finance committee since 2003; and

WHEREAS, In October of 2013, Mayor Reaves was appointed to the Commuter Rail Board (Metra) as Director; he was reappointed to a four-year term in 2015; he has been involved in various transportation issues over the past several years and has previously served on the Transportation Committee and Legislative Committee for the Southwest Conference of Mayors; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves is a member of the Board of Directors of the Will County Governmental League, where he chairs the Legislative Committee; in addition, he serves as President of the Northern Will County Water Agency and has been a member of the Metra Heritage Corridor Alliance since 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves is the Executive Vice-President of MHI in Charlotte, North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves and his wife, Sherrie, have four children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lemont Mayor Brian K. Reaves on his retirement, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Reaves as an expression of our esteem and respect.
