HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer
4James Brockmeyer of Chester, who passed away on October 28,
52016 in the line of duty; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer was born in Chester to Donald
7and Dixie (Bowen) Brockmeyer on April 30, 1994; he graduated
8from Chester High School in 2012, where he played football,
9basketball, and baseball; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer worked for the City of Chester
11Gas Department and part-time for Derek's Lawn Service in
12Chester before joining the Chester Police Department; he was
13also a volunteer fireman for the Chester Fire Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer dedicated himself to public
15service, demonstrated by his service as a firefighter and by
16his commitment to the profession of law enforcement; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer served as a cherished member of
18the Chester Police and Fire Departments; he will be missed by
19his fellow firefighters and brothers and sisters in blue; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer was a member of St. John

1Lutheran Church in Chester and the Randolph County Rod and Gun
2Club; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Officer Brockmeyer is survived by his parents; his
4sister, Megan Brockmeyer; his fiance, Lauren Hoops; his
5maternal grandmother, Joleen Bowen; and many aunts, uncles,
6cousins, friends, brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and
7firefighters; and
 
8    WHEREAS, May Officer Brockmeyer rest in peace; may his
9memory live on in all those who carry on the mission to serve
10and protect with the same honor and integrity; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13mourn the passing of Officer James Brockmeyer, and extend our
14sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
15and loved him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Officer Brockmeyer as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
