HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Barbara Rose Talaski on the occasion of her 100th birthday on November 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Talaski has resided in Calumet Park longer than anyone else; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Talaski worked at Harvester during World War II to support the war effort; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Talaski has lived in her house on Carpenter Street for 83 years; her street was named in memory of her husband, Steve, a founding member of the Calumet Park Fire Department during the Great Depression and the longest active volunteer fireman in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Talaski was a member of the Calumet Park Fire Department Women's Auxiliary; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Barbara Rose Talaski on her 100th birthday and we wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Barbara Talaski as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
