HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Willie
4Mae Jordan of Morgan Park, who passed away on August 27, 2018;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Willie Jordan was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi
7to Alonzo and Dillard Brown on March 15, 1928; she was the
8third of ten children and committed to her faith at an early
9age; she was educated in Kosciusko, Mississippi; she married
10Clifton Jordan Jr. in 1949, and they had seven children; she
11took great pride in raising her children; and
 
12    WHEREAS, In 1988, after her children were grown and
13independent, Willie Jordan accepted a job at the United States
14Postal Service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, No matter where she lived, Willie Jordan was
16diligent about finding a church home and was a member of Third
17Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist
18Church, and Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Morgan Park, her
19final church home; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Willie Jordan was preceded in death by her
21husband, Clifton; and

1    WHEREAS, Willie Jordan is survived by her daughters,
2Camille (Thomas) Randall, Antoinette (Rodney) Lewis, Felicia
3Gail (William) Gibbs, Carolyn Celestine (Lorenzo) Wiggins,
4Cecelia Lynn (Michael) Fields, and Bonita Parker; her son,
5Clifton (Javonna) Jordan; her 22 grandchildren; her 31
6great-grandchildren; her brothers, James (Roxie) Thompson, Joe
7(Callie) Thompson, and Rob Thompson; her sister, Barbara
8(Lawrence) Thompson; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins,
9in-laws, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12mourn the passing of Willie Mae Jordan and extend our sincere
13condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Willie Jordan as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
