1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Hazardous Materials Emergency Act is amended
5by changing Sections 5.03 and 5.07 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 50/5.03)  (from Ch. 127, par. 1255.03)
7    Sec. 5.03. To establish a program, with the advice and
8recommendations of the Board, for utilization of the State's
9communication systems (a) to accept telephone reports of
10accidents involving hazardous materials; (b) to relate to the
11emergency agencies in the vicinity of the accident any
12information available about the location and type of accident,
13nature of the hazardous material involved, and any precautions
14which should be taken in handling the material; and (c) to
15report to and coordinate with the other State agencies or
16departments which might be knowledgeable about the type of
17accident or the hazardous material involved and with the United
18States Department of Transportation.
19    All files, records and data gathered by the Agency or the
20Department under this Act shall be made available to the
21Department of Public Health pursuant to the Illinois Health and
22Hazardous Substances Registry Act.

2    Sec. 5.07. To coordinate with the other members of the
3Board to determine which department or agency can best, within
4the statutory scope of its duties, inspect facilities and
5equipment for the use, storage, transportation, and
6manufacture of hazardous materials to determine whether they
7are in compliance with applicable federal or State regulations.
