SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bruce D. Pitchford of Girard, who passed away on August 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford was born on February 23, 1954 in Springfield; his parents were Herschel and Leda June Swaringen Pitchford; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1973 to 1976, being stationed in Japan; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served as an Alderman in Girard for 12 years; he subsequently served as Mayor of Girard for 8 years; he also served as a tax assessor with Macoupin County since 2008; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford is survived by a son, Joseph H. Pitchford; a brother, Jim (Gloria) Pitchford; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Bruce D. Pitchford; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bruce Pitchford as an expression of our sympathy.
