SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John J. "Jack" Rogers of McHenry, who
4passed away on August 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was born in Chicago to Gilbert A. and
6Rose (nee Sebek) Rogers; he served in the United States Marine
7Corps from 1951 to 1953; he married to Elaine Olson at the Post
8Chapel at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California on February
910, 1952; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was employed by the Chicago
11Northwestern Railway from 1947 until 1989, except when serving
12in the military; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jack Rogers enjoyed golf, traveling, and
14following the Chicago White Sox; he was a member of St.
15Patrick's Church in McHenry and a member of the Knights of
16Columbus, McHenry Council 1288; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was preceded in death by his parents;
18his wife, Elaine; and his brother, Gilbert Rogers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jack Rogers is survived by his 5 children,
20Rosemary Burd, Michael (Veronica) Rogers, Diane (James) Odom,

1Kathleen Rogers, and Thomas Rogers; his 11 grandchildren,
2Christy (Jeremy), Jason (Stacey), Robert, Jennifer, Jessica
3(Matthew), Andrew (Vicki), Jacob (Laura), Rebecca, Timothy,
4Rodger, and Angela; and his 11 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh,
5Jacoby, Mia, Alexander, Mackenzie, Anthony, Brayden, Brady,
6Damien, Sebastian, and Kendal; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9John J. "Jack" Rogers, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jack Rogers as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
