SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John J. "Jack" Rogers of McHenry, who passed away on August 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was born in Chicago to Gilbert A. and Rose (nee Sebek) Rogers; he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953; he married to Elaine Olson at the Post Chapel at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California on February 10, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railway from 1947 until 1989, except when serving in the military; and

WHEREAS, Jack Rogers enjoyed golf, traveling, and following the Chicago White Sox; he was a member of St. Patrick's Church in McHenry and a member of the Knights of Columbus, McHenry Council 1288; and

WHEREAS, Jack Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine; and his brother, Gilbert Rogers; and

WHEREAS, Jack Rogers is survived by his 5 children, Rosemary Burd, Michael (Veronica) Rogers, Diane (James) Odom, Kathleen Rogers, and Thomas Rogers; his 11 grandchildren, Christy (Jeremy), Jason (Stacey), Robert, Jennifer, Jessica (Matthew), Andrew (Vicki), Jacob (Laura), Rebecca, Timothy, Rodger, and Angela; and his 11 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Jacoby, Mia, Alexander, Mackenzie, Anthony, Brayden, Brady, Damien, Sebastian, and Kendal; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John J. "Jack" Rogers, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Rogers as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
