SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Peter V. Wintersdorf, Jr. of McHenry, who
4passed away on August 12, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peter Wintersdorf was born in Annapolis, Maryland
6on May 16, 1952 to Peter V., Sr. and Mary (nee Rutherford)
7Wintersdorf; he was raised in a career military family and was
8able to experience living in many locations throughout Europe
9and the United States while growing up; he attended the former
10Coyne Institute of Chicago and later received an associate
11degree from Ivy Tech Community College; he married Janine
12Horvath in Rolling Meadows on May 10, 1975; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Peter Wintersdorf became a service fitter in 1978
14with Pipe Fitters Local 597 and then a journeyman; in 2004, he
15founded his own business, J.P. Mechanical Services, which he
16operated for many years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Peter Wintersdorf enjoyed spending time with his
18family and at his Wisconsin summer home, traveling with his
19wife, and coaching Little League and youth basketball and youth
20baseball; he was a member of The Church of Holy Apostles in
21McHenry for many years; and

1    WHEREAS, Peter Wintersdorf was preceded in death by his
2parents, and his brothers, Matthew (the late Nancy), Lawrence,
3and a brother in infancy; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Peter Wintersdorf is survived by his wife of 40
5years, Janine; his 2 sons, Peter (Teresa) Wintersdorf and
6Jeremy (Kristy) Wintersdorf; his grandchildren, Lillian Grace
7and Carmela Mary; his great-niece, Emily Wintersdorf; his
8mother-in-law, Bernadette Drake; his father-in-law, Julius
9(Carla) Horvath; his sisters-in-law, Dorine (Robert) Hatch and
10Sheryll (Greg) Crider; and his brothers-in-law, Michael
11Horvath, Matthew Horvath, Robert Patrick, and Mark Horvath; he
12was an uncle, cousin, and friend to many; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Peter V. Wintersdorf, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences
16to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
17it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Peter Wintersdorf as an expression
20of our deepest sympathy.
