SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy J. Anderson of Richmond, who passed away on July 13, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was born on April 10, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan; her parents were Albert and Mary (nee Tobias) Tomasek; she married Ray J. Anderson on June 11, 1955 in Detroit; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was a graduate of Redford High School in Detroit, graduating in 1952, and worked at the National Bank of Detroit during and after high school; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson and her husband lived in Norfolk, Virginia while he served on the USS Mississippi and Nancy worked for the National Bank & Trust Company; they subsequently moved to the Glenview Naval Air Station, then to the Naval Base in Long Beach, California while Ray served on the USS Saint Paul in the Pacific Ocean; they later went to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan; they then moved to Richmond, where she worked for the family-owned Belden Oil Company and the United States Postal Service for 22 years; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; she served as president of the Richmond Garden Club; she served as a Girl Scout leader; she was also a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization, a Rotary Ann of the Richmond Rotary Club, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Anderson is survived by a daughter, Kristin Anderson; a son, Mark (Grace) Anderson; a granddaughter, Emma Esmond; a sister, Sally (Jack) Broderick; a niece, Andrea Broderick; and her extra special friend for 69 years, Joyce Wilson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Nancy J. Anderson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nancy Anderson as an expression of our sympathy.
