SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bernice Lucille "Bonnie" Farkas of Lexington, who passed away on June 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Farkas was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on September 22, 1942 to John and Anita Matthewson Strike; she married Mervin Farkas on November 17, 1962; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Farkas and her husband retired in 2006 and bought a recreational vehicle, spending winters at Breeze Lake Campground in Brownsville, Texas; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Farkas was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara; her brother, Clarence; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Farkas is survived by her husband of 53 years, Mervin; her children, Joseph (Betsey) Farkas and Rebecca (Scott) Hartema; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, including Diane, Doreen, and Cynthia; and countless children whose lives she touched through foster care and babysitting; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bernice Lucille "Bonnie" Farkas, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bonnie Farkas as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
