SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" Francis Collins of Crystal Lake, who passed away on July 10, 2015; and

WHEREAS, William Collins was born on May 26, 1920 in Chicago; his parents were John and Margaret (nee Condon) Collins; he married LaVonne Bigelow in 1952; together, they raised 5 children in the Crystal Lake area since 1963; and

WHEREAS, William Collins lived his early years on the south side of Chicago, graduating from St. Rita High School; and

WHEREAS, William Collins proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946; and

WHEREAS, William Collins enjoyed books, his favorite sports teams, a good Scotch, and spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, William Collins was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, LaVonne; a grandson; a sister, Margaret; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, William Collins is survived by 5 children, Pat (Andy) Voloch, Dan (Maureen) Collins, Jerry (Patty) Collins, Jack (Anne Marie) Collins, and Kathleen (Mike) Liautaud; 12 grandchildren, Mike, Chris (Nicole), and Megan Voloch, Brian (Allie) and Bridget Collins, Susan and Joanna Collins, John and Angela Collins, and Kelly, David, and Julie Liautaud; and a great-granddaughter, Malena Voloch; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of William "Bill" Francis Collins; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Collins as an expression of our sympathy.
