SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of our former colleague, Richard Francis "Dick" Kelly, Jr. of Oak Forest, who passed away on July 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kelly, Jr. was born on October 12, 1936 in Chicago; his parents were Richard and Ruth Kelly; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kelly, Jr. attended Tilden Technical High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Governors State University; he also attended DePaul University and the American Institute of Banking; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kelly, Jr. was employed at the MidAmerica National Bank in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kelly, Jr. served the State of Illinois with distinction as an Illinois State Representative for 5 terms and as an Illinois State Senator for 3 terms; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kelly, Jr. was the beloved husband of the late Ethel Kelly; the loving brother of Reginald Kelly and Sharon Owen, the late Glenda McGrath, Ronald Kelly, and Rex Kelly; and the cherished uncle of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of our former colleague, Richard Francis "Dick" Kelly, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Kelly, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
