SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joy Stewart of Harvard, who passed away on June 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Joy Stewart was born in Chemung on September 9, 1913 to Rollo and Lillian (nee Ladd) Burroughs; she married Clarence Steward on January 24, 1937 in Chemung at the family farm; and

WHEREAS, Joy Stewart was a care giver; she enjoyed croqueting, sewing, knitting, and many other crafts; and

WHEREAS, Joy Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; and her brothers, John and Ladd Burroughs; and

WHEREAS, Joy Stewart is survived by her daughters, Carol Johnson and Sue Stewart; her grandchildren, Roy and George Heincig; and her great-grandchildren, Mia, Makena, and James Heincig; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joy Stewart, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joy Stewart as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
