SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert A. Walsh of Woodstock, who passed away on June 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Robert Walsh was born in Chicago on April 16, 1935 to Bernard and Maria (nee Antonucci) Walsh; he married Verlene Kane on May 12, 1956 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Robert Walsh was the owner and CEO of the North States Steel Corporation for 44 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Walsh was an avid boater on Lake Geneva; and

WHEREAS, Robert Walsh was preceded in death by his wife, Verlene; and

WHEREAS, Robert Walsh is survived by his children, Jeannine Giacomino, Robert (Tamie) Walsh, and Sandra (Bart) Myers, and his grandchildren, Alexis, Kelton, Haylee, Kyle, Katie, Isabelle, and Reid; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert A. Walsh, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Walsh as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
