SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Earl Johnson of Chicago, who
4passed away on May 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was born in Lineville, Alabama on
6October 27, 1942 to Wiley General Lee Johnson, Sr. and Willie
7Mae Miles; he attended elementary school in Lineville and then
8completed his elementary education at Tennyson Elementary
9School in Chicago; he attended John Marshall High School and
10married Barbara Jean Bussie on October 10, 1964; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson worked for Heinemann's Bakery, the
12Inland Steel Company, and the Archer, Daniel, Midland Milling
13company, retiring after 31 years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was preceded in death by his
15parents; his mother-in-law, Gloria Demons; his grandson,
16DeMarco Arnez Powell; his siblings, Wiley Johnson, Jr., George
17Johnson, and Cozetia Johnson; his brother-in-law, Byron Eugene
18Demons, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson is survived by his wife of over 50
20years, Barbara; his daughter, Patricia Ann "Trish Ann"
21(Michael) Powell; his 2 granddaughters, Michalah Jeane Patrice

1Powell and Brittany Coulter; his 5 great-grandchildren,
2Travon, Anthony, Deziaah, Destinee, and Amari; his siblings,
3Wille Faye (Marvin Lee) Cole, Nathaniel Fred Johnson, Brenda
4Johnson, Dorothy (Fredrick) Jackson, and Janice Johnson; his
5brothers-in-law, Fred Bussie and Marshonne Demons; and his
6sisters-in-law, Terrie (Michael) Reed and Charisse (Robert)
7Jackson; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert Earl Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Johnson as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
