SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rita M. Covell of Richmond, who passed away on May 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Rita Covell was born in Richmond on December 26, 1932 to Ernest and Genevieve (Darrow) Kattner; she graduated Richmond-Burton High School in 1950 and married William C. Covell, Jr. on June 14, 1952 at St. Mary's in Pell Lake, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Rita Covell served as an election judge for many years; and

WHEREAS, Rita Covell was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richmond; she was an avid Chicago Bulls and Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Rita Covell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her brother, Donald Kattner; and her sister, Helen Wicinski; and

WHEREAS, Rita Covell is survived by her 4 daughters, Kimber (Robert) Stout, Tracey (RJ) Hart, Daintri (Lou) Sikora, and Nicole Kaminski; her son, Ernest Covell; her 10 grandchildren, Nathaniel (Jessie) Hart, Landon (Andria) Hart, Estee (John) Scholtz, Cody Hart, Zachary (Mali) Covell, Zane (Nichole) Covell, Zeb Covell, Joey Sikora and Jessica (Jeremy) Arendt, and Marissa Kaminski; her 10 great-grandchildren; her 2 sisters-in-law, Phyllis (the late Jim) O'Halleran and Patricia (the late Melvin) May; and her brother-in-law, Mike (Gay) Covell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rita M. Covell, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rita Covell as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
