SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patrick Louis Jolliff of Champaign, who
4passed away on May 19, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff was born on November 13, 1931 in
6Yakima, Washington; his parents were Louis and Frances (nee
7Flynn) Jolliff; he married Carolyn Joy Carlson on May 12, 1953
8at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff was a graduate of Champaign High
10School; after graduation, he began his career with the United
11States Postal Service, where he worked for 40 years in several
12customer service positions; in 1975, he was named Postmaster of
13Urbana, where he served until his retirement in 1992; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff was the NAPUS National Vice
15President from January of 1986 to December of 1987 and served
16as the NAPUS-ICC Chapter 6 President; he was a member of St.
17Matthew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; he also
18actively volunteered his time at area schools, the Park
19District, and the Kiwanis; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff enjoyed traveling, working in his
21yard, collecting rocks and stamps, and watching the Fighting

1Illini; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff was preceded in death by his wife,
3Carolyn; a brother, Richard Jolliff; and a brother-in-law, Dean
4Brogden; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patrick Jolliff is survived by a son, Patrick
6(Pam) Jolliff; a daughter, Nancy (Doug) Braun; 5 grandsons,
7Benjamin (Risa) Jolliff, Zachary and Nathan Jolliff, and
8Michael and Christopher Braun; a brother, Wally (Marilyn)
9Jolliff; a sister, Kathy Brogden; and a sister-in-law, Alma
10Jolliff; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Patrick Louis Jolliff;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Patrick Jolliff as an expression of
17our sympathy.
