SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patrick M. Magosky of Joliet; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was born on February 21, 1942 to Willard E., Sr. and Mary H. (nee Krakar) Magosky; he lived with his family in Nestor Falls, Ontario, Canada; he graduated from St. Raymond's and Joliet Catholic High School and Joliet Junior College with a degree in business; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was very well known in Nestor Falls, Canada for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family and community; he worked on the construction of his parent's store and road side dock and building; he was very well known for his assistance and leadership as a teenager in building an airport and Catholic church; he would often help with the construction after work; he was nominated to be knighted but was only 19 years old and one must be 21; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky worked several years as a Cost Accountant at the Texaco Refining in Lockport; he then worked as an Inspector at G.A.F. and at Insta Foam for several years; the rest of his working career was at chemical companies and the Unoven Coking Plant in Lemont; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky attended Governor State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in health care administration; he also earned an electrician's license, a home inspection license, and was a private pilot; he authored 2 books, "The First 35 Years of Joliet History" and "Historic Impressions of Shorewood"; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Cpt. Charles J. Magosky, USMC; and his son, P. Seth Magosky; and

WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky is survived by his wife of 50 years, Andrea K. Magosky; his daughter, Serena A. Magosky and son, Cean M. Magosky (Anne); his 3 grandchildren, Serenita, Karley, and Andrew; his brother, Willard E. Magosky, Jr.; his 3 god children; his 3 brothers-in-law, Joe Rafac (Nora), Jim Rafac (Angie), and John Rafac; his sister-in-law, Linda Rafac; and a host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patrick M. Magosky, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patrick Magosky as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
