SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sarah Lynn Ely, who passed away on May 10, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely was born on July 12, 1989 in Springfield; his parents were Todd and Vicki (nee Lambert) Ely; she was a lifelong resident of Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely graduated from Christ the King Grade School and Sacred Heart Griffin High School before earning her teaching degree from Benedictine University; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely taught 4th grade at Pleasant Plains Elementary School as a substitute teacher; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely was actively engaged in helping others through various charities, including Friend in Deed and St. Martin De Porres; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely enjoyed spending time with her niece and her other family members, helping children, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and boating in the Ozarks with her father; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Ely is survived by her father, Todd Ely; her mother and stepfather, Vicki and Kevin Korte; 3 sisters, Lauren Ely and Rosalee and Jillian Korte; her grandparents, George and Judy Lambert, Jerry and Marion Ely, and Larry and Carolyn Korte; a niece, Lila Ely; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Sarah Lynn Ely; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sarah Ely as an expression of our sympathy.
