SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Daniel J. Kanaly, who passed away on
4January 26, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Daniel Kanaly was born in Marengo on January 11,
61921 to Joseph and Mabel (nee Gustafson) Kanaly; he served in
7the United States Army during World War II, serving in North
8Africa and Italy; on December 28, 1955, he married Cora Wilkins
9at Harmony United Church of Christ; they lived in Illinois,
10Arizona, and Arkansas before moving to Burlington, Wisconsin,
11in 2008; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Daniel Kanaly worked at Arnold Engineering, and
13then as a supervisor with Union Special in Huntley, Illinois,
14until retirement; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Daniel Kanaly was a member of the American Legion
16Post in Burlington; he enjoyed woodworking, gardening,
17reading, and traveling with his wife; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Daniel Kanaly was preceded in death by his
19parents; his wife of 53 years, Cora; his brother, Charles
20(Lois) Kanaly; his brother-in-law, Ray Wrona; and his niece,
21Hazel; and

1    WHEREAS, Daniel Kanaly is survived by his children, Donna
2(Donald, Jr.) Fescenmeyer, Eileen (Jerry) Hasselwander, and
3Karen (Dennis) Lappin; his grandchildren, Eric, Leif
4(Stephanie Geisler), and Britt Fescenmeyer, Daniel, George,
5and Tim (Breta) Forgey, Mary (Steve) Lambson, Jamie (Kat)
6Lappin, and Shawn (Breane Wilson) Lappin; his
7great-grandchildren, Keeley, Christian, McKenna, Lucas, and
8Jacob; his sister, Mary Wrona; and many nieces, nephews, other
9relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Daniel J. Kanaly, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Daniel Kanaly as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
