SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Ann Joppa of Crystal Lake, who passed away on March 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Joppa was born in Milwaukee on April 4, 1942 to Howard and Esther (nee Ivicek) Mantor; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Joppa was employed as a second grade teacher by School District 47 in Crystal Lake for 38 years; she furthered her education at Loyola University, where she received a master's degree in education; throughout her career, she served as a mentor to several teachers; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Joppa enjoyed activities she could do with her family, especially playing golf with her husband, enjoying the outdoors, and going fishing with her family; she was always fond of all types of canine companions throughout her lifetime; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Joppa was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Douglas A. Joppa; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Joppa is survived by her 3 children, Ellen (Greg) Chrisman, Anne (John) Healy, and Gregory (Amber) Joppa; her 7 grandchildren, James, Brandon, Megan, Mark, Veronica, Jack, and Emma; her brother, James (Chris) Mantor; and her niece and her nephew; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Margaret Ann Joppa, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret Joppa as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
