SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond Cooper of Harvard, who passed
4away on April 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper was born on August 6, 1932 in
6Richmond; his parents were James Raymond and Ann (nee Vermett)
7Cooper; he married Lillian Greer on November 13, 1956 in
8Woodstock; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper served his country as a member of
10the United States Army during the Korean War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper was a farmer for many years;
12following his retirement, he became a greeter at Walmart; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper enjoyed gardening, collecting
14coins, working on lawnmowers, and raising pigeons and rabbits;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper was preceded in death by his
17parents; his spouse, Lillian; 2 children, Kenneth Vermett and
18Penny Archambalt; and 3 siblings, William, Wayne, and Robert
19Cooper; and

1    WHEREAS, Raymond Cooper is survives by 4 children, Debra
2(Glen) Whaples, David (Nancy) Vermett, Kimberly Cooper, and
3Benny Cooper; his special friend, Cindy Davis Nolan; several
4grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 8 siblings, Joanne Goff,
5June Huff, Richard (Sharon) Cooper, Jack (Donna) Cooper, Ronald
6(Alexander) Cooper, Elsie (Earl) Cooper, James (Janet) Cooper,
7and Clifford (Cathy) Cooper; and many aunts, uncles, nieces,
8and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Raymond Cooper; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Raymond Cooper as an expression of
15our sympathy.
