SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jimmie R. Rogers, who passed away on March 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was born on April 8, 1931 in Corning, Arkansas and was a former resident of Rockford, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff; and

WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was a veteran of the United States Army and served as an Army Ranger in combat during the Korean War, having attained the rank of Master Sergeant; and

WHEREAS, After his service in the Army, Jimmie Rogers served as an officer with the Lake Forest Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was a past president of the Illinois Police Association; and

WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Rogers; and

WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers is survived by a son, Michael (Linda) Rogers; 6 grandchildren, Chesleigh Rogers, Emma (Luke) Sims, and Grace, Matthew, Katherine, and Andrew Rogers; and a sister, Melba Rinaldo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Jimmie R. Rogers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jimmie Rogers as an expression of our sympathy.
