SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edna M. Kiley of Crystal Lake, who passed away on March 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Edna Kiley was born in Crystal Lake on March 1, 1921 to Otto and Ida (nee Schwalger) Berkley; she graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1939 and married Thomas Kiley in Crystal Lake on September 27, 1942; and

WHEREAS, Edna Kiley was a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout leader; she loved fishing, gardening, and canning and excelled in bowling with which she stayed active until she was 87; she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a past President; she especially loved being Poppy chairman; and

WHEREAS, Edna Kiley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; her daughters, Robin Caputo and Carol Bear; and her siblings, Ralph Berkley, Ken Berkley, Frances Jurs, Marion Johnson, and Vera Waggoner; and

WHEREAS, Edna Kiley is survived by her daughter, MaryAnn (Len) Miele; her son-in-law, Mark Bear; her grandchildren, Ann (Anthony) Deegan, Kelly (Steve) Pagel, Kim (Mark) Oshinski, Angie (Joe) Blakeley, Jami (Greg) Golz, and Kerry (Walter) McLaughlin; her step-grandchildren, Tina Blair, Kori Davis, and Randee Miele; and her 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edna M. Kiley, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edna Kiley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
