SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dr. Helen H. Numbers, who passed away on
4December 10, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Numbers was born in Elkhart on January 14,
61921 to James A. and Jessica E. Havey; she married Dr. Leroy
7Numbers on June 30, 1951; she graduated from Columbia Union
8College in Tacoma Park, Maryland; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Numbers received her doctorate from the
10Illinois College of Podiatry, where she was a professor for 12
11years; she practiced podiatry in Crystal Lake for more than 35
12years and was one of the founders of the podiatry department at
13McHenry Hospital; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dr. Numbers was active in many civic and
15educational organizations; she was a 10-year member of the
16District 47 Board of Education and was an active member of the
17First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Numbers was preceded in death by her parents;
19her husband, Dr. Leroy Numbers; and her brother, Col. James
20Havey; and

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Numbers is survived by her son, Alan (Kristi),
2and her grandson, Patrick; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Dr. Helen H. Numbers, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Dr. Numbers as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
