SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James A. Baker of Cary, who passed away on November 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Baker was born on October 10, 1955 in Elgin; his parents were James and Zoe (nee Smith) Baker; he married Judith Comstock on May 28, 1977; and

WHEREAS, James Baker graduated from Cary-Grove High School in 1973 and Southern Illinois University in 1977; and

WHEREAS, James Baker had an accomplished career in television; he was the technical manager for CBS Sports, TNT, the Oprah Winfrey Show, and many other networks; and

WHEREAS, James Baker enjoyed playing guitar, fixing and riding motorcycles, skiing, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, James Baker is preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Marilyn Comstock; and

WHEREAS, James Baker is survived by his wife, Judy; 2 sons, Will (Sarah Hunko) Baker and Sam (Ashley Schultz) Baker; a brother, Steve Baker; a sister, Cathy (Bill) Rybak; and many extended family members and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James A. Baker; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Baker as an expression of our sympathy.
