SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lezlie Kay Randall of Tilton, who passed away on March 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was born on August 17, 1958 in Danville; her parents were Herbert W. Randall, Elizabeth (nee Butler), and Bill Learnard; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in English; she also graduated from the University of Illinois with honors, earning her Masters of Education degree with a major in educational and organizational leadership; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was an English teacher at Catlin High School for 18 years; she also served at various other schools within the county for many years; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall had a passion for teaching and enjoyed all of the kids she was able to influence; she also worked very hard on the Catlin and Jamaica school consolidation; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall loved reading, art, conversation; she also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and her students; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was preceded in death by her father, Herbert W. Randall, and a daughter, Megan Elizabeth McMillin; and

WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall is survived by 3 children, Andrew (Amy) McMillin, Kenton (Toni Kasprowicz) McMillin, and Grace (Ross) Wilson; 3 siblings, Robin (Mike) Fetters, Troy (Julie) Randall, and Damon Randall; a special stepbrother, Scott (Kathy) Learnard; 4 step-siblings, Mark (Lori) Learnard, Clark Learnard, Beth (Tom) Dekker, and Blaine Bensyl; 2 grandchildren, Kai and Mallie Kate McMillin; 4 nieces and nephews, Abigail Elizabeth (Tyler) Gutteridge, Zach Randall, Samantha Randall, and Damarah Randall; and many close friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Lezlie Kay Randall; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lezlie Randall as an expression of our sympathy.
