SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Irene Gundelach of Marengo, who passed away on February 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Irene Gundelach was born in Leydon Township on July 26, 1923 to Walter and Mabel (nee Runge) Butenschoen; she married Warren Gundelach in 1942; and

WHEREAS, Irene Gundelach worked at Baxter until her retirement in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Irene Gundelach had a great interest in horses; and

WHEREAS, Irene Gundelach is survived by her daughter-in-law, Melody Gundelach; her grandchildren, Cheryl Gundelach and John (Tina) Gundelach; her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, and Ryan; her siblings, Vi (Al) Piske and Walter (Sandy) Butenschoen; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Irene Gundelach was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her son, Richard Gundelach; her parents; and her siblings, Ella Mae, Lillian, and Elroy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Irene Gundelach of Marengo, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Irene Gundelach as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
